A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
Before you tee off.
The basics of scores, friends and a round with WORM.
What is WORM?
WORM is a recreational golf app for scorekeeping, optional day-of adjustments, games and sharing with friends. WORM stands for Worn-out, Overserved, Rusty or Mis-equipped. Your actual strokes stay separate from the adjustments used for casual play.
Does WORM replace GHIN?
No. WORM’s handicap and WORM Index are personal estimates. WORM does not issue an official GHIN Handicap Index or submit scores to GHIN.
Do I need a club, a trip or custom rules?
No. Choose your course and players, then start. Standard rules are ready to use. Games, house rules, clubs and trips are optional, and you can play solo.
How do rounds with friends work?
The host adds other WORM accounts to one round. Those players see an in-app invitation and can enter scores and WORM adjustments on the same live card while connected. The host starts and finishes it; guest browser links stay read-only. After it is finished, each player can approve their own card into their history. You can remove an unfinished shared card from your list without deleting the scorer’s round.
Can someone follow a round without WORM?
Yes. The scorer can send a round invitation that opens in a browser without an account or download. Anyone with that link can view what it permits. The scorer can stop sharing, and links expire.
How does Find distance work?
Open Find distance from the scorecard, allow location, and tap a spot on the satellite map. WORM shows the approximate straight-line yardage from your phone. It updates while the map is open. GPS accuracy and satellite imagery affect the result; WORM does not identify the actual flag position.
Can I keep score without reception?
Yes. Save your course and round setup while connected. The host can keep scoring offline, and the shared card updates when WORM reconnects and saves. Linked players need a connection to edit the same card. Course search, map imagery and other online features need a connection.
Does WORM handle payments?
No. WORM can record game results and balances, but it does not collect or transfer money, hold funds or collect debts. Only use game features where lawful.
Who can find me or see my rounds?
New accounts are searchable by name and unique handle, and automatic highlights start with a Friends audience. You can change discovery and sharing in onboarding or Sharing & privacy. Private round backups are separate from the posts and invitations you choose to share.
Why is my photo awaiting review?
Story photos are reviewed before other golfers can see them. Your scorecard can appear without its photo while it waits. If a photo is removed, choose a different appropriate photo. You can contact support to ask about a moderation decision.
How do I download WORM?
WORM is currently in an iPhone beta with a small tester group. See the download section on the homepage for current availability. A public TestFlight or App Store link will appear there when it is ready.
