Using WORM

WORM is operated by Griffin Shimkus, an individual. These terms are an agreement between you and Griffin Shimkus as WORM’s operator. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean that operator.

These terms govern the WORM app, website and related scorekeeping and social features. WORM is a recreational golf service for keeping scores, applying your group’s rules and sharing rounds. Use your own account, keep your sign-in details secure and provide information you are entitled to share.

You must be at least 18 and an adult under the law where you live to use WORM. Alcohol-related features may be used only by people of legal drinking age where they are playing. Your acknowledgement of these requirements is a self-declaration; WORM does not verify your age or anyone else’s.

Alcohol and personal safety

Drinking alcohol is not required to use WORM. Alcohol-related entries and score adjustments are optional recreational features. No score adjustment, achievement, ranking or house rule is a recommendation to drink, a drinking target or evidence that any amount of alcohol is safe.

Do not consume alcohol or increase consumption to obtain a score adjustment, achievement or competitive advantage. Do not pressure another person to drink or use WORM to organize excessive drinking, drinking challenges or underage consumption. Hosts must not require alcohol consumption as a condition of joining or competing.

You are responsible for your decisions about alcohol, participation and transportation, and for following applicable laws and course rules. Alcohol and impairment can increase the risk of serious injury or death. Do not drive a vehicle or golf cart, operate equipment or continue an activity when impaired. Stop using your device whenever it distracts you from your surroundings.

No assessment of impairment or emergency monitoring

WORM does not measure blood alcohol concentration, determine sobriety, assess your health, monitor your safety or tell you whether you are fit to play or drive. Logged drink counts, condition labels, scoring limits and adjustment caps are not medical guidance or safe-consumption limits. Do not rely on them to make a health or safety decision.

WORM does not monitor for emergencies or arrange assistance. In an emergency, contact local emergency services directly. A support request, report or notification in WORM is not an emergency service.

Group activities and voluntary risks

Clubs, trips, games and house rules created by users remain subject to these safety requirements. Providing scorekeeping or group tools does not mean WORM supervises an outing or approves a participant’s conduct, alcohol service or transportation arrangements. WORM does not sell, serve or supply alcohol.

You acknowledge that golf, outdoor activities, distraction, alcohol and impairment can involve risks to you, other people and property. You are responsible for your voluntary choices and for taking reasonable precautions for yourself and others. This acknowledgement does not waive rights or exclude liability that cannot lawfully be waived or excluded.

Scores, conditions and games

Handicaps and WORM adjustments are personal estimates, not an official GHIN Handicap Index. Course data, calculations and live updates can contain mistakes or be delayed. Check your group’s rules and results before relying on them.

Map imagery and yardages are approximate and can be wrong or unavailable. WORM is not a navigation or safety system. Check your surroundings and the course’s own signs and instructions.

Game balances record your group’s results. WORM does not collect payments, hold funds, pay prizes or collect debts. Use these features only where lawful. Recording a game in WORM does not make an otherwise unlawful wager lawful.

Your content and other golfers

You keep ownership of your content and give WORM permission to store and display it to provide the features and sharing you choose. Only upload photos or information you have the right to use. Obtain other players’ permission before sharing their personal details or conditions.

Do not post harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, explicit sexual content, illegal material, spam or another person’s private information. Do not share content that promotes underage or excessive drinking, impaired driving or dangerous challenges. Do not impersonate people, automate abusive requests or attempt to bypass account or security controls. Use report and block controls for abuse, and Contact WORM for private concerns.

Shared text is screened and story photos require moderator approval before appearing to other golfers. We may remove content or restrict social access to address abuse, security issues or legal obligations. Do not republish removed material or evade a restriction. For a report or review of a moderation decision, email support@playwormgolf.com or use Contact WORM. Private scorekeeping, support and account deletion remain available during a social restriction.

Feedback and upvotes help guide development; they do not guarantee a feature or delivery date.

Availability and your rights

Features may change or become unavailable. Keep an export of important records. To the extent permitted by applicable law, WORM is provided as available, without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or freedom from errors.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, WORM’s operator is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability or consumer right that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit.

You can stop using WORM or delete your account in Settings → Account. The privacy policy explains what deletion covers. Material changes will be brought to your attention, and we will request a new agreement when required.
