Group golf leaderboards, seasons and challenges
Keep the rivalry going.
WORM keeps a regular golf crew’s standings, records and seasonal challenges together. Friends can compete across different outings, but not every saved round counts toward every leaderboard. Start with the season, the challenge’s round source and your sharing settings.

Pick the right results view
| View | What to use it for |
|---|---|
| Standings and Records | Compare eligible results recorded for this Group. They are not a combined record of every personal round a member has played. |
| Season challenges | Compete on goals such as Most rounds, Most birdies or Lowest scoring average. Each challenge has its own round source, length and qualification rules. |
| Tournaments | Run a defined individual stroke-play or Stableford event with its own completed, approved entries. Sharing a scorecard or appearing in a challenge does not enter a tournament. |
Before your crew starts the season
Accepted members participate automatically in eligible challenges; there is no separate challenge-entry step. The owner can choose from 37 challenge templates.
- Join the Group and make sure your membership is accepted. Being named as a guest on a scorecard is not Group membership.
- Check My sharing in this group → Scores & records. Turning sharing on is a forward-looking choice, not an automatic import of every old round.
- Open the season picker and choose the season you want to compare, then use Results → Challenges. Open a challenge card to see its rankings and qualification progress. All time is not a season challenge view.
- If you own the Group, use Manage season → Choose challenges to select one to three goals. Check each challenge’s Configure screen, including Which rounds count? and Round length.
- For a Group round, choose Save to Group before starting, then add the playing roster separately. Group membership does not add everyone to the scorecard.
All eligible rounds or Group rounds only?
This setting belongs to the challenge. It does not move a round into this Group’s ordinary standings, records or winnings. Check the selected nine- or eighteen-hole round length too.
Agree on the setting before the first outing. All eligible rounds suits friends who often play separately; Group rounds only suits a competition built around your crew’s own outings.
| Challenge setting | What it means |
|---|---|
| All eligible rounds | Qualifying personal rounds and rounds played for other Groups can count, subject to the challenge and your sharing choices. The same eligible round can contribute to challenges in more than one Group. |
| Group rounds only | The round must have started with this Group selected. Selecting a different Group, or only joining this Group afterward, does not make that round a qualifying Group round. |
Worked example: two cards, but no ranking yet
Hypothetical example: a weekend crew chooses Lowest scoring average for eighteen-hole Group rounds. One member has two completed, approved cards that meet the season, membership and sharing rules. Both can be qualifying rounds, but this average challenge requires three before the member qualifies for a rank.
A third eligible eighteen-hole Group round meets that minimum. An unrelated personal round would not meet the Group rounds only setting. A nine-hole round would not meet the selected round length.
Do not apply that three-round threshold to every challenge. Most rounds and Lowest gross score can qualify with one eligible round. Check the requirements shown for the goal you chose.
A round or result is missing? Check in this order
If a result still seems wrong, reconnect and refresh, then check any coverage notice or ask the owner about an excluded round. Corrections, withdrawn approvals and deleted rounds can change results; do not change scores just to force eligibility. A notice about recent eligible rounds is a limit on the displayed coverage, not proof that older play never happened.
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| The wrong season or no challenge | Select the intended season rather than All time, then open its challenges. |
| A saved round does not count | Check that it is completed and approved, uses an eligible individual format and matches the challenge’s round length. A scramble team result is not an individual challenge result. |
| A personal round is missing | Check Which rounds count? Group rounds only excludes rounds started without this Group selected. |
| A new member’s older round is missing | Membership, participation and sharing eligibility apply. Joining or switching sharing on does not automatically backfill earlier private rounds. |
| Qualifying rounds appear, but no rank | Check the minimum-round requirement. Averages and percentages can require three qualifying rounds. |
| Results disappeared after sharing changed | Check Scores & records under My sharing in this group. Turning it off hides the member’s Group results, challenges and history. |
| A feed highlight names a different leader | Open the current challenge standings. A highlight records an achievement at that time, not a permanent claim to first place. |
Keep the competition inside the Group
Accepted members can see Group results. A Public Group’s joining setting does not create a public web leaderboard or expose the member roster and history to everyone.
A shared round link is a separate, read-only view of one round. It does not grant access to the Group’s standings. WORM records game balances, but payments happen outside WORM.
Common questions
Can friends compete from different courses or on different days?
Yes. A challenge set to All eligible rounds can include qualifying personal and other-Group rounds, subject to membership and sharing rules. Group rounds only instead requires rounds started with that Group selected.
Why do I have two qualifying rounds but no challenge rank?
Check the selected challenge’s minimum. Lowest scoring average requires three qualifying rounds; Most rounds and Lowest gross score can qualify with one. The round source and nine- or eighteen-hole length must match too.
Does joining a Group add me to every scorecard?
No. A Group organizes ongoing competition. Each round has its own playing roster, and saving a round to a Group does not add other members to that card.
Does turning sharing on count all my old rounds?
No. Membership, participation and sharing eligibility apply going forward. Turning Scores & records on does not automatically import every past private round.
Can I use WORM for a small golf league?
WORM can keep an informal league’s seasonal challenges, standings and records together. For a defined stroke-play or Stableford event, use a Group tournament. WORM does not schedule tee times or collect league fees.
Can nonmembers see a Group leaderboard on the website?
Group results are available to accepted members in the app. A shared round link is a separate, read-only view of that round, not public access to the Group’s history.
